CA Admission & Pathways
CA Entry Routes
Students can begin CA after:
Intermediate / A-Levels (minimum 50%)
Bachelor’s degree (for exemptions in AFC/CAF)
Relevant professional qualifications (like ACCA or ICMA)
CAF to CFAP Route
CA Pakistan has a progressive structure:
AFC (Assessment of Fundamental Competencies)
CAF (Certificate in Accounting and Finance)
CFAP (Certified Finance and Accounting Professional)
MSA (Multi-Subject Assessment)
Admission at RAET (Registered Accounting Education Tutor)
Authorized tuition centers by ICAP offering guided preparation for CA exams with qualified faculty and structured sessions.
Exemptions
Holders of degrees like B.Com, ACCA, or ICMA may claim exemptions in AFC/CAF papers after evaluation by ICAP.

Exam Structure & Progression
All exams are written-based (descriptive)
AFC and CAF exams are conducted multiple times a year
CFAP and MSA exams are held twice yearly
Passing marks: Minimum 50% per paper
Exam Rules
Students must register and complete AFC before starting CAF
CAF must be cleared before attempting CFAP and MSA
Training period and practical work experience are essential alongside CFAP

ICAP Registration Fees (2025 Estimate)
Initial Registration: PKR 18,500
Student Subscription: PKR 4,000 annually
Examination Fee per Paper: PKR 3,500 – PKR 5,000 (varies by level)
Re-sit Fee & Exemption Fees: Additional
RAET Tuition Fees
AFC Level Coaching: PKR 35,000 – 45,000
CAF Level: PKR 50,000 – 80,000 (per subject/course)
CFAP & MSA Tuition: PKR 70,000 – 90,000 (per paper)
Registration with ICAP
Register online via ICT BUSINESS SCHOOLÂ and submit scanned documents (photo, CNIC, academic transcripts).
Academic & Practical Requirements
Training Contract / Articleship
To qualify as a Chartered Accountant in Pakistan, students must complete a 3.5-year articleship (training contract) with an ICAP-approved training organization.
Duration & Experience
Minimum 3.5 years full-time articleship
Includes performance reviews, practical assignments, audit engagements, and office training
ICAP Membership Criteria
Pass all exams (AFC to MSA)
Complete training contract
Clear viva/interview if applicable
Adhere to ICAP’s code of ethics
Continuing Professional Development (CPD)
After becoming a member, you must complete 40 hours of CPD every year (including structured learning and seminars) to maintain active membership status.
